strange things are afoot at the circle-k.

it's finals weeks around here. yes, that is two weeks, because my awesome professors have scattered regular assignments, final projects and final exams over these weeks of the semester. grand.
so, i'm picture-paging it this week.
one of my favorite websites is ffffound! because i just like to look at a lot of different things. being confined to my house and the chiropractor's office for last week, i appreciate just looking at something other than a ceiling.
that, and it gets the non-school non-work non-detailed side of my brain working again, like a good run about on the treadmill. but with neurons.
so each day, an image flagged from ffffound that i like. for you. you're welcome.
yeah, that's pretty much true. maybe not all i want, but decently close.
p.s. still have not bought amazing watch. is it possible to have pre-buyers remorse?
back.
out.
again.
same problem. lower lumbar, L3 - L5. these lumbar should have their own blog by now, i swear. they have their own playlist on my ipod, because when they decide to be bastards and travel on their slip and slide, i get in copious amounts of pain and depressed, and must listen to depressing music.
this time around, my boss has learned, and i will be set up with remote access so i can work from home. a blessing and a curse, no doubt. but it really more a blessing, because it's nutsy at work, and i am apparently invaluable, and a big stress when this happens is that i'm missing work.
many people ask what happened when they see me walking at literally a 45 degree angle.
the answer?
NOTHING.
the very very first thing that happened was a car accident in 2001. that loosened things up a fair deal. then, nothing until 4 years later, in 2005. i lifted up a box, felt something pop, and i was out. chiro fixed it, and i saw him regularly after that. this chiro is a miracle worker. okay, maybe not so far, but he can adjust my back ONCE and it is fixed. so then flash forward to last year. back was sore-ish for awhile, i travelled to nashville, came back home, sat down on the floor to put shoes on and couldn't get up again. i was out for 2 weeks, as an mri showed that i two bulging discs that were compressing against my spine. suck.
then today, i bent forward at the waist (which you are NEVER supposed to do, gasp, but i had done a million times because i am not EIGHTY YEARS OLD) and felt a pop and a searing pain in my lower back. because i was walking out the door to work, i went to work. that lasted for an hour before i was nearly the spit and image of a right angle. sara, the geometry lesson. so, barely made it back home, could not get in to see my dream chiropractor (which is a long and irritating story) and made it to see my 2nd chiropractor in command (we have back ups, you see) who throughout an hour and a half made my back feel better, and then worse than i started.
so i am home again.
i have schoolwork to complete, my chiropractor to call, and then oxycodone to take so i can sleep through the gnawing pain in my back. fun.
then, i get remote access to work tomorrow, and more chiro appointments and not being able to stand and cook for myself.
whine first, then ice cream, then surrendering my will and health to God who is the ultimate healer.
